Joovy Caboose vs. Baby Trend Sit N' Stand

When I had my second child, I knew that I did not want a traditional double stroller.  They seemed so bulky to me and I needed something to fit into my Honda Accord trunk.  My two year old was not really interested in sitting in a stroller anymore, so I loved the concept of the Sit and Stand Strollers.  The two choices that are available are the Joovy Caboose and the Baby Trend Sit N' Stand.

The Baby Trend Sit N' Stand folds up a bit larger than the Joovy Caboose, so immediately I was drawn to the Caboose.  Then I discovered that the Sit N' Stand does not work with my infant carrier (the Chicco Keyfit).  I did like that the Sit N' Stand was a little longer, so it had more sitting room for my older child.  They are both pretty heavy (about 25 lbs.).

There is a Joovy Caboose Ultralight stroller that is nicer than the original caboose, but it costs almost twice the amount of the original.  The main upgrades of the Ultralight is that it's lighter (21 lbs.), has a larger canopy, it comes with the parent tray, and has smoother running wheels.  These features were not important to me when I was considering the price difference.

I love my Joovy Caboose and so do my boys.  It's not very sleek, but it does the job for $150.  My 6 month old loved the stroller in the infant carrier and now loves sitting in the seat.  It also has a great tray for the front seat with a cupholder and plenty of room for toys.  My older son loves to stand and has plenty of room to sit when he gets tired.  He did not have a lot of space to sit with the infant carrier in, but now he does with my baby in the actual seat.  I think that the Joovy Caboose is a great choice if you have a child who is no longer interested in strollers, a stroller that folds up flat, and won't break your budget!
