Infant and Toddler Feeding

I always wondered if my infant or toddler was eating enough or eating the right things.  When I searched for feeding schedules, there were so many websites, but few that actually told me exactly what I wanted to know.  There are so many formulas to choose from and many kinds of baby foods; which kinds are the best?

The best feeding schedule that I found was at mercyweb.org.  Mercy Health Partners (MHP) is a recognized leader in providing quality, cost-effective healthcare and is a regional leader in collaboration with other community organizations to meet community needs.  To find the entire feeding schedule click here.

As for formulas, my doctor said that he recommends Similac, Enfamil, and Good Start.  He said that there are many store brands that are good too, but to pick one that is iron-fortified and has a DHA/ARA blend.  I use Similac because I receive many coupons from them and they have an organic formula.  You can sign up to receive their coupons at www.similac.com.  Enfamil sends coupons as well, at www.enfamil.com.

There are many kinds of baby foods to choose from.  I think that we have tried them all.  I don't think that there is one kind that is better than the rest.  I buy only organic for my sons and I find that they have the best selection at Whole Foods.  It is a little more expensive.  There is a large selection at Target too and they are more reasonable.
